We usually see a couple kids in 70. We faced a kid this past weekend that hit 78
There is another kid in our area that was 83. That is very rare for this age. In my limited experience kids I see throw that hard have less control and wear down quickly. Most see their balls increase and velocity tank after about 40 pitches.

From what I'm told some scouts actually prefer to not see kids throwing that hard at such a young age. Too much pressure on joints. Need the growth plates develop...SJS may know about this. My son won't be a high speed kid. He success is the high spin rate. Auburn coach told us they would like to see his slider in mid 80's with 1500+ spin rate by 10-11 grade. Just for comparison Chris Sale was avg 2275 on his slider in 2017 😳

Because his spin is high he is a pitch for contact pitcher. His ground ball ratw is high. Most his ERA comes from hitting kids (common with slider at his age 😁) and walks, then those kids scoring off fielding errors by his team. Ground balls that get through ect. We rarely see balls hit the gap with him.

On a side note I think there is a video of a 16 yr old hitting mid nineties out there this year. That is crazy.
