An extremely surface level look at a few potential Jazz FA signings
Joe Harris
- He probably gets more than the MLE, but he’d be tempting if he was available. Doesn’t fit the “long athletic wings” description though.
Jakob Poeltl
- He’s got to be better than Tony Bradley, right? San Antonio would probably match a Jazz offer though, don’t want to lose the young asset they got back for Kawhi.
Kris Dunn
- Yeah, he sucks on offense, but he’s a great defender. He would’ve been an awesome option to throw at Murray for 15 minutes a night last month.
DeMarcus Cousins
- I know this won’t be a popular one, but he’s worth a look. If you could get him for a minimum deal I see no reason why you don’t. You could cut him if he didn’t work. He’s got to be better than Bradley, right?
Derrick Jones Jr
- Long athletic wing, plays small ball 5 in Miami. Definitely worth considering.
Josh Jackson
- I know he’s been a bust up to this point, but he’s athletic and if best case scenario he can guard the 2-4. Worth a shot at the right (low) price.
Harry Giles
- Pretty much the same thought process as Jackson. Why not sign him and hope he develops? I’m all for filling your 10th-15th spots on the bench with upside players.
Kent Bazemore
- Pretty good on both ends, would be a nice player to give 15-20 minutes a night at the 2-3.
Wesley Mathews
- (see Bazemore)
Meyers Leonard
- Isn’t getting minutes in Miami, he’d be better than Bradley.
Andre Roberson
- Great defender, awful on offense, worth a minimum deal to see if he can still play.
Frank Jackson
- I mean, why not?
Jevon Carter
- Who doesn’t love an energy guy? Would’ve been a nice option to throw at Murray in the playoffs, and he can’t injure Jazz players if he plays for the Jazz

Also, at this point I’m off the Favors to Utah bandwagon. I think he’ll get at least the MLE and I don’t want to spend the MLE on a big.
