death certificate, home ownership with right of survivorship question
I'm not asking for legal advice, just maybe somebody who's been through this before.

how long does it take to get a death certificate for a death by natural causes? got a situation with my in-laws: my FIL is probably going to die in the next couple days. he's been very sick and been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks. although he doesn't have COVID, due to rules in hospitals right now my MIL hasn't been able to see him at all in that time. today they are sending him home to be with her and there's a good chance he won't make it long.

beyond the horribleness of that issue, they are in the middle of selling their home and are supposed to close in about 10 days. we were planning to have them move in with us but he took a quick turn for the worst compared to 8 weeks ago when we started this process.

so assuming he passes away, and they own their home (in AZ) as joint tenants with right of survivorship, the MIL will own the house herself outright. but there will take some time to change the paperwork, and I assume the bank will need a death certificate to do that. anybody know if that can be done in a week or so to allow MIL to still sell her home on schedule and be able to move in with us? I don't want her to lose the buyer who offered a very generous offer for their home.
