I'm at SCERA park today and I see a group of three guys each with their own dog. Well my coworker and I are a few hundred feet away eating our lunches when he hear a loud sound and some yelping. We look over and I see this guy hit his dog so hard we can hear it hundreds of feet away and he does this a few more times, he also kicks the dog, and yanks it off the ground multiple times. He's so annoyed at this point that he puts it in to the back of his truck and ties it up so it can't lay/stand fully. By this point we"re so disgusted that we called Orem PD and the lady on the other end asked if we could stick around and write down our statements, of course we say yes. They continue around the park and he continues to hurt the dog every so often. Animal control comes over and says to us unless he can see bruising or other marks indicating abuse he can't do anything (even though we witnessed the abuse). To shorten the story the man gets talked to by the officer, but because the dog wasn't showing injuries the "man" didn't have anything happen to him. I guess I should've caught the piece of crap on camera. It's sad that we had multiple witnesses to the abuse but nothing could be done. I feel bad for calling the cops now because that guys probably going to beat the crap out of him at home because of it.
