9/2 vs Arizona -neutral site game in Vegas vs a very beatable low-level P5 team. Should be mostly BYU fans in attendance. Thursday night game, gives us a long week of preparation for Utah. Should be a good exposure game as well.
9/11 Utah. Streak has got to end sometime, right?
9/18 Arizona State - fun matchup, mid level P5 who is fairly competitive most years, team that we have history against. Fun and difficult home game, but not too daunting.
9/24 South Florida - respectable AAC program who has been down for a few years. Payback game for 2019’s embarrassing loss. Friday night ESPN game.
10/1 @Utah State - we get to October before we play our first true road game. Friday night game before conference, beautiful fall evening in Logan, should be fun.
10/9 Boise State- Top MWC program, has turned into a really fun rivalry. Should be an exciting game.
10/16 @Baylor -Mid tier Big 12 team who occasionally puts together a great team. Will be a tough game, but one BYU has a good shot to win most years.
10/23 @Washinfton State - Lower level PAC 12 team that has been solid recently. We owe Nick Rolovich some payback.
10/30 Virginia - Bronco returns. I imagine it will be a great atmosphere, Bronco will be surprised at how warmly he is received. Will be a memorable game.
11/13 Idaho State - somewhat boring game off a bye, but good to get some second unit guys experience and to just enjoy a mid afternoon beat down in LES.
11/20 @Georgia Southern -Who knew this was an fbs team? Not me. But fun nonetheless to play in Georgia. I’m sure cougar fans will represent well.
11/27 @USC - Thanksgiving weekend in the Coliseum? You kidding me? What an awesome way to finish the season.
This is a tough schedule with intriguing games from beginning to end. We’re not going to run the table through that schedule, but there isn’t a game on there that I don’t think BYU will have a chance in. I love watching us put up tons of points, but give me next years schedule over a MWC, AAC, old WAC, or 2020 schedule any day.
