Is it done by laying UTE fans on their sides across a river, handing them a million tweenkies and the watch them balloon up to stop the water flow? I'd really like to see that...heck who wouldn't?

Ok all honesty now... I used to root for both BYU and Utah. I nearly chose Utah but decided to go to BYU. Both teams have a lot of historic ties. My wife was accepted to both schools, but chose Utah.

But to be Frank as a writer that had to follow and observe both closely over four decades, I really got to the point twenty years ago when I simply could not stomach the fan behavior anymore. Utah just get obnoxious more and more over the years.

When the PAC expanded everyone in RED acted like somehow the program with less recent relavent FBS history, smaller and less P5 level facilities, a G5 stadium and ranking in the 200 range academically that was best known for fraud-fusion was chosen because it was superior to BYU....well I could not stomach the absurdity. Utah was chosen because no university with an Ok or Tx as initials wanted to travel two Time Zones west to play games in the dark. Colorado had already accepted and so the PAC looked around, but not at the religious, 66th ranked academically, P5 Athletic Program BYU. Utah has never wanted to face the reality it was NOT BYU and that's why it was chosen. Utah WAS getting $13.7 million a year from Utah taxpayers to subsidize its program and BYU was collecting zero, even though its self funded AD far out earned the UTEs.

No what caused me to leave my relatively mutual respect and appreciation for UTAH was the big butt mooning its fan base gave BYU.

I hold NONE of that against Chris Hill or Kyle Whittingham. I love K-Whitt. He is an awesome example of BYU and LaVell Edward's his mentor. I hold nothing against the Ute coaches or athletes. No my disgust has mainly been with the fans that act like they earned a great honor, when all the bikini clad program did was win the second-best beauty contest because BYU's bathing suit was a religiously modest one piece.

Everyone familiar with college sports knows this is true. BYU will never fit in with the PAC because the name Jesus Christ appears in the schools monument sign. BYU students are thankful for that distinction between the world without God and the world at least a little immersed in God's creation.

We know this because the University of Utah just has block U. To me it says, U are all that matters. U are U-centric. U may as well be all that matters.

BYU's monument also says, "The World is our Campus." Where Jesus Christ taught us to serve, BYU teaches its graduates to "Go forth to serve."

Maybe for me the division of loyalties came about because the U fans just were not very nice. I still love people like Coach McBride. The athletes and AD are mostly great people. But the mohair wearing fans in the west stands and the many drunk'n LDS coeds that my sober and faithful wife helped put back together emotionally after a night of debased debauchery has shown me the dark side of that campus and its fan base.

I came out about a decade or so ago and let it rip that I was a Cougar fan. I still respect the Ute AD and its wonderful programs. I hurt for their layoffs and pray they get that pirate ship righted soon. But my loyalties lie with BYU. I attended and loved BYU and I make no excuse for that.

So seeing UTE fans come to this board and constantly poke BYU fans in the eye gets old. Who here goes to their board? Do they have a board? That's my thoughts on this and why I tire of the Shadow Utes especially.
