So...we just bought 10 acres of empty land in rural Michigan. Building question.
If we have up to $50,000 currently to build a vacation cabin that we would use each summer for 2-6 weeks, but may build our retirement home on the property in 8-10 years from now...what would you do?

1 - Build a tear down structure for cheap and wait until we are ready to build our retirement home to start over from scratch or

2 - Try to design and build a structure with the idea of using what we already have built that can just be added on to when the time comes to spend real money?

We do have a number of growing kids and other relatives that could use the property at other times of the year, so it wouldn't necessarily be empty for the rest of the year when we aren't there.
