I just sliced a belly of bacon this morning, which took a long time and got not particularly consistent results. I have a long slicing knife I use for brisket and the like but I'm wondering if it would be worth it to invest in a meat slicer, which could make it more reasonable to do our own bacon, roast beef, etc. As I look around I see a lot of reviews that suggest anything worth having would be bigger or more expensive than I might be willing to get, but if I hear some good reports I could change my mind.
