Their out of conference schedule has recently been pretty weak, other than playing BYU. It seems like they’ve been trying to take the easy road, and save their strength for the P12 portion of their schedule. I get the strategy—if they can run the table, they have a good shot of getting into the playoffs, so why risk that by playing good out of conference teams. But I respect much more USC and Oregon for risking an undefeated run by challenging themselves against the top teams from other conferences and giving their fans and players more exciting match ups. It will be interesting to see how the UofU does against p12 teams who all play similar schedules.
