I'm putting this in the BYU category since it impacts BYU. Suppose those 2 conferences didn't get their crap together and ended up not having a season, BYU would be sitting at #10 right now without PSU or Ohio State in the rankings. And we wouldn't have to worry about Oregon, USC, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and others jumping us.

On the other hand, those conferences are now factored into the rankings since they'll be playing this season and BYU still sits at #12. The inclusion of those 2 conferences seems to actually legitimize BYU's rankings since all teams are now factored into the rankings.

On one hand I like that we're ranked #12 out of the teams across all of the major D1 conferences. But it would be amazing to have watched Utah sit home all season long, raging at every positive thing that happens to BYU.
