October 2001. BYU vs Utah State. My dad had 4 seasons tickets. I took my wife and my brother took his Japanese girl friend.

They met us in Lehi at my wife’s brother’s house. We then drove from there together.

It worked out great. My in laws had heard all about her and wanted to meet her.

She showed up wearing Doc Marten boots. They had big chunky heels.

My nephew who was 4 at the time walks up and says “you have really big boots.”

She lets out an embarrassed giggle and covers her chest with folded arms.

It took us a second to figure out what was happening.

Now we’re all laughing.

My brother decided we shouldn’t tell her because she took it as a compliment.
