Special teams killed Houston. Giving up the onside kick and the shanked punt
would have been emotionally crushing. They happened almost back to back at the most critical time of the game.
It's not mere coincidence that BYU pulled ahead drastically after those plays happened. Without them, the game would have likely been a nail biter until the final second.
