DeekLyfter Intervention Needed
Board Docs and DOs. I've got a problem. I'm debating on what to do
Back in February I attempted to jump across from my house to our back patio. Our deck hadn't been built yet, and I knew I could make the jump. It was about 6-8 feet away from the house and 2-3 feet below the house. Long story short, I made the jump, but my foot landed on the edge of the concrete, and it straightened my leg up into my hip.

I had immense hip pain for weeks afterwards, but I thought it was back pain from moving into our new house, and I'm fat, so lower back pain isn't new to me. But the pain didn't go away, v finally in April I went to see a doctor. No x-rays or anything. I explained the pain to him and he said it was a sprained or strained SI Joint. That it's common and I needed to walk it off.

Well, that's all good and dandy, except that now it's 6 months later and though the pain went away for a while, it's back now, with a vengeance. Though this doesn't hurt in my back. This hurts in my hip. I can't sit or stand in one place for more than 5 minutes before it's so uncomfortable that I have to move. Ironically, the seat in my LyftWagon is perfect and I don't feel much pain sitting in there...

So, originally the doctor said that if my pain didn't go away with walking and stretching, to come back and he'd shoot me up with cortizone. But honestly, I want someone who's going to maybe test some things out before diagnosing my hip injury. Maybe at least take an x-ray?

How common are these injuries? Should I seek out a specialist? Do I have a degenerative hip?
