Watched the Houston game again - a few random observations
- really impressed with Wilson running and sliding after getting big yards. I’m ok with valuable QBs fighting for a first down or TD, but if it it isn’t a make or break play then don’t take unnecessary hits. I’m sick of injured star QBs. Great to see him do the Russell Wilson approach to running. Use your legs frequently for big plays but avoid taking hits.

- twice Wilson did a great job of throwing the ball into the ground in order to avoid a sack but made sure to throw it in the area of a player to avoid grounding. Great composure for a college QB.

- despite an good completion % I remember at least three dropped balls. His numbers could have been even better.

- his pass to Pauu in the endzone that was reviewed and determined to be a drop was a perfect pass. He made the same pass in the first half also. It is dart right on target, catchable for the receiver but gives the defender no chance for a pick. These kinds of throws will work against better defenses.

- So grateful to have an aggressive coach willing to go for it on 4th down and recognizing that a touchdown is worth the risk. Didn’t love the handoff to Wake, but loved the decision to go for it and have loved it all season. I was surprised he didn’t go for it in the fourth quarter up by 3 at midfield. We got stuffed on 3rd and 1 and punted on 4th and 2. I would have been fine with him going for it. Also was so happy to see them go for the TD on 3rd 15 - what a pass in a big time moment.

- obviously loved the onside kick, but loved the timing of it and the guts to take the risk - even if it had failed.

- Wilcox - what a game. Dude has a shot at the NFL. On the second defended deep ball - it looked like PI - but he did a great job of trying to look back for the ball and arm fighting as soon as the receiver stopped to come back for it.

- it was great to see some of the younger players get in and play well and show some potential.

- I couldn’t believe someone was complaining about Andre Ware. Ok - he talks a lot. He was gushing about our team all night long, way more than he was Houston his Alma Mater. I think Houston fans were probably annoyed and upset with him. He can do our games any time. And just seems like a nice down to earth guy. Also kudos to his partner calling out Warner “posing like a statue that goes on your trophy mantle.” Nice spontaneous line.
