Re-read what I wrote. I never minimized what
happened or justified it. You’re right, it was terrible, and the institution is at serious fault.

All I’m saying is, are you so sure your own institution doesn’t have deficiencies that couldn’t lead to similar bad outcomes? And you’ll probably say, “Yes! This thing at the U is unlike anything that could ever happen at my school!” And I’d disagree - not in the general, anything-can-happen-to-anyone-anywhere sense, but in the sense that there area also serious institutional deficiencies at your own school that could lead to an outcome that harms some student in a serious way. And if that happens at your school, I promise I won’t reduce that to, “figures this would happen at BYU, what a terrible place.” This is bigger than that.
