That was such an incredible experience to see the beaches where our Marines landed, Mt Suribachi where they raised our flag, the pill boxes with rusted guns, and some of the tunnels. Seeing our honor guard jointly conducting the ceremony with the Japanese honor guard was also a reminder of the peace, prosperity, and partnership our two countries now enjoy. The C130 ride to get there was also fun for the first 15 minutes or so.
