My take on the fake Punt last night...
First off, I don't care about Rod Gilmore, The refs messed up not calling the PI (That is for another discussion).

Need to establish, that I don't ever think it is justified to call a play like that when you are clearly locked in for the win and it is late in the game (whether 3rd or 4th). I do think it is classless and what BYU did was classless IMO. The reason I am taking issue with the Fake Punt is the Hipocrasy from those on here that say no "big deal", or "it was a good call" or "players were mad because of the no PI call". I want to remind CB of how many on here have mocked and criticized and called Kyle Whittingham and the Yewts "classless" when they decided to do an onside kick against Wyoming when they were leading them 43-0 late in the 3rd Q back in 2007.

Now, I know some on here are going to tell me, "that is not an apple to apple comparison as it was the coaching staff (Kyle Whittingham wanting to teach Cowboy Joe a lesson and hold him "accountable") that made that call for Yewtah and BYU was just the kicker". To me, it does not matter. If we want to be considered a "classy" program and stand above as BYU professes to be, then we as a fan base need to be consistent as well. When we are up 49-14 late in the 4th Quarter is not a time to do a fake punt or onside kick IMO. You can disagree, but let's not be hypocritical and pretend that it is OK for us to do it, and not another program that we have mocked for years for doing something similar if not the same.

Just needed to share my 2 cents. I said last night that I did not like the call, whether it was from the coach or the player it was not called for.

Mock away if you like, but this is how I feel about this current situation.

Here is the video for anyone that needs a refresher.
