So let me make sure I understand: Refs can see a clear penalty in front of them and decide not to call it based on the
teams involved and the circumstances of the game? Sounds like a recipe for cheating and unethical behavior.
Your kudos for the back judge that missed a clear PI literally right in front of him are not okay. You and Rod Gilmore can go suck a lemon on that one.
I repeat: officiate the game straight up. Don't be in the business of deciding "what is right" other than whether a rule was broken or not.
I challenge you to explain why this should not be the policy for every referee at every level of football.

Yeah, you don't stop being a referee just because one team is up big. An obvious foul is still a foul.
