I don’t think that’s the point. It’s Rod Gilmore‘s idiotic comments, hypocrisy and the other things he has said, then his stubbornness and doubling down to try to defend people’s reactions to his comments. Gilmore tried to defend his comments on Twitter by saying that PI needed to “impede“ a player from catching the ball, and although there was a “little contact“ this was not blatant PI. To me, that’s the part about his comments that were the most absurd, it’s bad enough that he said the ref was right for not calling PI, then to claim it wasn’t a clear case of PI. I think this is much more about Gilmore‘s comments than PI not being called.
And there’s also a big difference between “I’m not upset that they didn’t call PI” versus your attitude of “I’m GLAD they didn’t call PI“.
