Looked across the street and saw this girl's mom run out of the house toward the street with the dad coming out behind her. He gunned her down in the street then turned the gun on himself and committed suicide. My friend only had a younger sister, about 12 at the time. They didn't really have any other family and my friend just basically raised her sister the rest of their teenage lives and both turned out very well and accomplished in life. I was always very impressed how she handled it with her sister. It has been almost 40 years but the whole scene still seems surreal to me.
