We are seeing the beginning of a potential golden age in BYU sports considering
--Football team ranked in top 10, 9-0 with a very young roster. Can Sitake build on this year and probably next with recruiting and increased coaching maturity?
--Basketball team ranked 15 last year and looking ready for a tournament run. This year looks to continue. Think we all agree about Pope--he's the rill dill with the performance last year, transfer recruiting by Pope, the enthusiasm, analytical approach. 7 year contract extension--hope this means commitment from both sides.
--Olympic sports are outstanding. We had a Men's CC championship last year, women's runner up, with both of them ranked 2nd and 3rd this year. Men's volleyball was ranked 1st and favored to win the natty. Women's preseason volleyball ranked #9. Women's soccer went to the elite 8 IIRC. Good recent showings in men's golf (top 5 ranking), top 25 in men's and women's track .
Not directly related, but also nice to see Cougs representing well in the NFL...
