Any quick tips to troubleshoot our home AC?

Endocoug All-American

Noticed last night that it never reached our target temperature. Now it’s 84 degrees. Thermostat set at 74. Blower isn’t operating currently but was earlier today and has periodically. Condenser fan seems to be spinning outside.

Turn it off & open a window; should get frosty cool in a few minutes (it's 25 degrees outside)

Check the airflow at your vents. If it seems weak probably have a block of ice

It does seem weak. I did notice that.

Usually a block of ice is indicative of a dirty A-frame, if you haven't had it

You can leave it off for a while then run the heat and see if water starts

So, it was off all day. No sign of ice.

Kick it on and see if it works. Also remove your filter for a few minutes.

I assume you've checked to make sure the drain line is clear and isn't tripping the float sensor? Have to pour vinegar
