The asterisk talk doesn’t bother me at all. But when the Dodgers are the
pre-season favorite, and then clearly the #1 team in the regular season (i.e., they likely would have been the #1 seed over 162 games), and then the playoffs are formatted to make it even harder than normal for the top seed to win (an extra round that is only a 3-game series!), and then the top seed doesn’t get the home-field advantage it would normally enjoy, there’s really no credible argument to say this title has an asterisk.
It might be a different story if a #8 seed (which normally wouldn’t even make the postseason) had won the World Series, but that’s not the case here.

The asterisk is on the season more so than the Dodgers themselves really. But it's there. Less than 1/3 normal season.
