LHM bought 50% of the Jazz for $8M in 1985, Ryan Smith just paid $1.6B
Not a bad return on that original $8M.
I took a class from LHM as part of the MBA program at BYU, and he talked about how he had to beg, borrow & leverage his other businesses to scrape up the $8M for the purchase.
