Players you've developed more appreciation for since they've left BYU?
I'm not saying you didn't think they weren't good while they were here. More like you didn't give them enough props, or they didn't get enough spotlight for what they did while playing for BYU. A few of mine:

Daniel Sorensen. He was on such a good defense with so many stars (Ziggy, KVN, etc.) that he sorta got lost in the shuffle a bit. At the time he seemed to get more credit for his work on Special Teams than in coverage and run support from his Safety spot. But he was really good.

Brett Keisel. That 2001 defense was so bad because of the lack of speed at LB that it was difficult to appreciate Keisel as a standout. He could really rush the passer. And if he & Denny would've been there when Bronco brought the 3-4/3-5-5, BYU would've been at another level defensively.

Brian McKenzie. While Jenkins got so much pub because of his game breaking speed, McKenzie quietly went about being an absolute beast. With his vision and quick feet he was so good running between the tackles and getting downhill to finish runs with power.

Ryan Hancock. At the time it was just incredible to find someone to effectively fill in for John Walsh. But if Hancock hadn't gotten injured, Walsh would've had to transfer and its very possible Ryan could've been a long time NFL QB. Not only did he have an absolute cannon, but he moved around effectively as well. Of all the former BYU QBs, Zach Wilson reminds me of Hancock the most.
