We go 2-2 in the first four games, but have lost 10 guys from our two-deep.

Then the wheels fall off. And we lose one of the last 4 games due to personnel, and everyone is calling for coaches’ heads.

BYU will never be deep enough for an independent schedule like that. It just isn’t feasible. If we were getting recruiting depth like we were in a P5, then it could work. But until we get 90% of the top LDS talent, it’s not going to keep anyone happy.
