next week with the ASU issues. Would it be better to play USC or Oregon? Sure. But that's even more of a pipe dream than Utah (which is still a pipe dream IMO).
Really the only thing that might make this plausible is if TV partners have told Pac 12 that $ is going to shrink if they don't play games and the Pac 12 might flex muscle on Utah and say if you only play 3 games you are only getting half the money or something to that effect.
Otherwise, I don't think Utah wants to play the game without some external pressure.
