You don’t avoid the game out of fear of potentially losing. That’s weak sauce
That’s not how sports work. You play your rival. You look forward to games with high stakes and a lot on the line.
Plus, the teams are 40 minutes apart. Both teams just want to play games at this point. It makes too much sense to NOT happen if both schedules line up on a given week. It would require no airplanes or out of state travel. Logistically it would require very little work.
