So who is in fact right? My understanding has always been that based on BYU’s classification as an Independent, the rules do not obligate the committee to select us under any circumstance except for a playoff spot if we’re ranked in the Top 4.

But i also have been under the impression that there was a ND exception written somewhere within the rules that is beneficial to ND, but doesn’t apply to BYU.
