Not a truck person at all but I'm finding msyelf needed storage space for hauling lumber and stuff more often. I drive a Corolla today and get about 32mpg and don't want to lose all of that efficiency.

I don't need a truck with a huge cab but it would be nice to get something that can fit 6 if necessary. However, I also would like to park in a garage--which may be asking for too much--so getting a shorter truck is probably where I need to be. Are these features mutually exclusive or is there a fit out there somewhere?

Anything else to consider?
