BYU once had a 6 foot 5 inch safety whose name escapes me. He was pretty good.

That's the only one I can remember in my entire history of watching football.

I don't see this kid being a natural fit for anything on defense.

He's a wide receiver, or if he's got the right frame can bulk up to be a tight end. I just don't think in the modern game you can put most 6'5 guys out there in the defensive backfield.

Although, there are a few 6'5 basketball players that just might have the athleticism to play a safety position. For the most part, if you are tall and very athletic you end up playing round ball.
