No. 7 Cincinnati is close to getting that No. 4 spot. The winner of the SEC, Big Ten and ACC will take the first 3 spots. Cincinnati can get that No. 4 spot if they play and beat BYU. The AAC has had so many COVID issues. Playing Tulsa in title game ain't moving the needle.

BYU can pitch to Cincinnati, "If you want to make history and be the first non P5 team in the playoff, you'll need to play us.

And if they lose to BYU (which they probably will), they'll still get a NY6 invite because nobody is close to taking that spot from them.
