but I am surprised Cincy finished that high. People who follow the committee knew BYU was in for a tumble after seeing UCF a few years back. Committee puts a ton of weight on SOS. If it's not a quality win (BYU has maaaybe one) it doesn't help at all, and if the loss is a quality loss then it doesn't hurt you.

Cinci has the better wins, so there was never a doubt they'd be ahead, but I didn't expect BYU to be closer to Coastal Carolina than to Cinci. Maybe I should have though - the Chanticleers have a P5 victory (Kansas, but means something in the committee's eyes), and then one or two (Louisiana, App State) victories better than or comparable to BYUs best.
