Cincy now has zero reason to play us. Being at 7, they are as well positioned as they’re going to get for a CFP invite. Their best course of action is to win out and hope the right teams lose; which is actually possible.

As a further kick to the scones, the Committee essentially said they don’t really value BYU so Cincy beating them doesn’t really help anyway.

As no other conferences are allowing OOC games at this stage, if we want to “move the needle” we are left with taking flyers on any potential P12 teams that may find themselves needing an opponent, but we know the risks there.

This leaves Tom in a tough position. Do you take flyers on the P12 or get the guys guaranteed games as a reward for a great season, but games that won’t help move the needle?

It sounds like we passed on the opportunity, but I’d really love to hear an SDSU announcement tomorrow so we can have 3 potential Saturdays to get these two games.
