they keep on being naive against all the evidence. It is what it is. We know what it is. BYU knows what it is. This is what college football is. The conferences want the money for themselves. Maybe in these hard times they think they need the money for themselves. They’re not giving it away, if at all possible.
I’m preaching to the choir, but as an independent BYU will always be fighting against the system as much or more than they are fighting within the system. It is not a level playing field, but I’m a fan of a program that believes it is important to maintain certain standards, anyway.
The harder question is, would we be doing the same if the shoe were on the other foot, vis-a-vis a lesser known team. I would like to play a team like Coastal Carolina. We don’t have anything to prove to a system that isn’t looking for proof, but is only looking out for itself. Let’s just play some football.
