Why is there a CFP committee? Why not use the AP rankings?
It’s the one poll everyone pays attention to prior to the CFP poll.
It’s voted on independently by 65 sports writers and broadcasters whose job it is to watch and write about sports all day everyday.
Voter polls are public and open to scrutiny.
65 informed and independent voters whose jobs rely on their integrity are less susceptible to tampering than 13 hand-selected people in a room.
I just don’t get why the AP matters so much until it doesn’t. Why not keep going with it?
