this makes no sense.
Either the undefeated PAC 12 team is ahead of us and we need to be ranked 12 or better, or there is a beat up PAC 12 champ behind us and we need to be ranked 11. Either way, how we finish in relation to the PAC 12 champ is irrelevant, since it is the other non-auto bid teams that we are competing with.
Furthermore, without playing some highly ranked teams in the PAC12 or ACC, we won't be ranked in the top 11 or 12 anyway. If all we do is play San Diego, then we will likely move down in rankings further because other schools will get more opportunities to play games while we sit at home.
