I get the frustration of not having a game this week especially as a fan.
But as I step back and look at the plausible reasons why TH and KS probably didn’t push harder to play this week it probably had to do with the length of the season and how taxing mentally and physically it would be on the team.

BYU has been playing games and practicing since early August and normally this would be the last week of college football until the bowl games unless you had a conference championship game.

Now BYU is looking to extend the season 3 more weeks into December. That’s a lot of extra wear and tear on the team, mentally and physically at this point, so with no guaranteed game this week I understand why they let the team go home and see their families.

Yes is it a risk because of contracting Covid or missing out on a game this week but for the physical and mental health of the team it’s probably a good thing.

None of the other power leagues have been playing this long. They are still young adults and not professionals like the NFL so a break during the holiday week makes realistic sense with the extended season.

As a fan do I want a game this week, of course I do but I get why they are not playing this week.
