My point was not to dispute the ranking but to point out that scheduling those teams and beating them wouldn’t move the needle with the committee for BYU. Objectively, that shouldn’t be the case, but when you look at Iowa and the record of its opponents it reinforces the four Ps. Frankly, BYU beating an ASU, Stanford, UCLA, or Utah would carry more weight to them than beating Liberty, Coastal Carolina, or Marshall. That is the reality and I am simply pointing out that if BYU wants a NY6 bowl it better find a way to schedule and beat a couple P5 teams.
