This is a lot of games crammed into a short timeframe. That's probably a good thing for this team with so many new players. It gives the coaches lots of opportunities to figure out rotations, playing time, and what combinations of players work best together early in the season.
Another interesting schedule tidbit is that after BYU plays Weber St on December 23rd, they have 8 days to prepare for their first conference game, Pepperdine in Malibu. That's probably a good thing.
This could end up being a very good team. They still have a ton of work to do, and many improvements to make, but as people find their roles and the team gels, they could surprise some people.
Final Comment: It's hard to described how bummed I am about Baxter's injury, not just because of the impact on the team, which will be significant, but the personal impact to him. It seems so unfair that after missing, basically, all of last season, to have a season-ending injury in the 2nd game of this season. So unfortunate.
