Frankly if you base it on things like that it's bad for BYU. I don't think Indiana should be ahead of BYU, but if you base it on where teams were ranked at the time they played, then Indiana beat #8 Penn State (way better than BYU's best win) and #23 Michigan while only losing to the juggernaut that is Ohio State (#3) so should probably be ranked ahead of BYU and their defeat of #21 Boise (Navy wasn't actually ranked when we played them).
