They beat UW that year and they might just win the NC. I mean, after BYU lost to UW, it took them 7 weeks to get back up
to #14 in the polls where they were when they lost. Win out and they are likely #3 going into the bowl games. Maybe the end up in the Fiesta instead of the Cotton. Either way, win their bowl game and they are the only undefeated team at the top of the polls and they finish #1.
