This is like when a ref makes a bad call in a game, everyone knows it, even the
ref who made the bad call knows it, but the call stands. Why? Because the mob is usually wrong and if you cave to them even once the mob will only be encouraged to become even worse than they normally are. So even on the rare occasion when they’re right, you can’t give into the mob.

There will be no massive correction on BYU’s ranking even if there is absolutely no justification possible under any circumstance for putting a two loss ISU above BYU. The refs would rather live with their shame than give into the mob.
