Real Estate Advice needed
A few weeks ago we decided to buy a house and pay cash for it because it was in awful shape. The closing date in the contract says 11/25. Well on that date my business partner ended up being in the middle of nowhere and had no way to wire his portion of the money, and the seller threatened to cancel it all if we didn’t get them the money that day. So my partner jumped through a ton of hoops and made it happen and we got them the money on time. Well the house recorded and we thought it was all over. I message the selling agent asking for the keys. He says he doesn’t have them and won’t for another week because the seller isn’t moved out yet. I had messaged him previously when I saw that the seller was still in there and he assured me the seller would be out by close. What recourse do we have? They have the money, and I feel like we were totally manipulated because they knew the guy wouldn’t be out but still refused to give us an extension. I know someone out there can give me good advice, at least I hope. All of you wanting to get into real estate, beware. Haha
