That's why I think you move it to an 8 game playoff. The two best G5's or independents square off for that 8th spot.
That game is played before the final pairings for the 8 team playoff. This way the precious P5's get 5 guaranteed
conference champion spots, with 2 at large spots for anyone and 1 G5/Indy spot. This would be too easy of a solution
and only add one game to the mix.
