That last two hour stretch of Highway is one of the most beautiful in the US.
But that stretch just west of Asheville is also likely the most nerve racking, especially for a trucker. Narrow lanes, no shoulders, no median just a concrete barrier, and nothing but high speed switch backs for roughly 40 straight miles. It’s fun to drive in a car, though.
