Really...REALLY surprised the game didn't get upgraded from ESPNU
This seemed like a no-brainer when the deal was announced/finalized yesterday morning (boy...that feels like a week ago already). Virtually everyone in the national sports media agrees this is THE most compelling game of the weekend with it's irresistible storylines and potential ripple effect on the CFP/NY6.
Can't believe the PTB at Disney/ABC/ESPN didn't want to put this centerstage..on the biggest stage. Or maybe they did and just couldn't get it all to line up?
It would be interesting to know if these discussions even took place and if so...how far they got.
