Age being discussed again = we’re good. The thing that frustrates me is the
obvious point that two years make that much difference when you’re competing 23 years old vs 25. And when you look at many of the players on our lines, they were huge in high school.

I know he plays for Oregon, but Pene Sewell won the Outland Trophy last year at 20 years of age. Had he gone on a mission and played for BYU everyone would talk about how he’s a grown man against boys. And they’d be oblivious to the fact that he would have looked like a grown man against boys without a mission (which is actually the case).

BYU recruits and plays a lot of guys with huge body types at an early age.

Also, as has been discussed before, our starters aren’t two years older than opponents’ starters on average. Not all of them have gone on missions. Some aren’t LDS.

Zach Wilson isn’t an RM. Tyler Allgeier isn’t LDS. Many of the players in our secondary aren’t LDS. According to the analysis I’ve seen, BYU tends to field players that average 13 months older than opponents.

And, again, when you’re talking about the mid 20s age range, 13 months just ain’t that big of a difference. We aren’t talking about 14 year olds vs not quite 13 year olds here.
