People here keep criticizing the 4th down flea flicker. It was an excellent play call. BYU's 4th down % was 54% this past season. Running the ball on 4th and 1 is, at best, a 50/50 chance and you saw how that failed later on in the game. The flea flicker gave ZW two options that were open - he had Romney deep with 1-2 yards of separation and then he had rex crossing with AT LEAST 5 yards of separation.
ZW went for the lower % throw to Romney downfield and the guy just blew it. Rex was the safer option and would have gotten an additional 7+ YAC.
It was a GREAT call. Two options were open. Rex was a 90% chance for a first down. That's much better than the 54% chance running the ball would have given us.
