bathrooms literally along the perimeter wall of an open cubicle area, so every sound and smell was easily & often shared, but if somebody found their assigned bathroom occupied (they were “single stall” lavatories) they would simply walk into & use the facilities meant for the opposite gender. And the bathroom windows were usually opened and uncovered so that those passing by outside could experience the fun as well.
